Ayrton Challenge Programme Workshop

The UKRI Ayrton Challenge Programme held a Workshop for Award Holders on 4th March 2025 at The Westminster London in London. 

The Ayrton fund is a UK Government commitment of up to £1 billion that aims to accelerate the clean energy transition in developing countries by creating and demonstrating innovative clean energy technologies and business models. The Ayton fund is managed by Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.

The Ayrton Challenge Programme organised the award holder workshop aimed at connecting projects with the funder, build cohesion across the wider Ayton Challenge Programme, share understanding, learning and good practise, network across the challenge leads, Ayrton fund delivery partners, award holders and UKRI. JustGESI PI Professor Vanesa Castán Broto and Ms Donata Didas, Monitoring and Evaluation, TaTEDO-Sustainable Energy Services Organisation represented the JustGESI project. 

During the event there were different sessions including Ayrton Fund Overview, Monitoring Evaluation and Learning and an Overview of Climate Compatible Growth Approach. This was followed by the poster gallery and the opportunity to learn about the projects that have been funded and network.
