Energy Research Day at the University of Cape Town

On 29 May 2025, the University of Cape Town (UCT) hosted a dedicated Energy Research Day for staff and postgraduate students engaged in energy-related research. The event aimed to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration across the University and featured a range of presentations and panel discussions.

The day was officially opened by Professor Lenny Koh from the University of Sheffield, who highlighted the JustGESI project, along with other collaborative initiatives between UCT and the University of Sheffield. Drs Jiska De Groot and Debbie Sparks attended the event and showcased the JustGESI project poster, which had been previously prepared by the University of Sheffield.

The poster was available for viewing throughout the day and during breaks, and Jiska gave a brief presentation to the plenary audience outlining the goals of the JustGESI project.
