JustGESI institutional partner TaTEDO Sustainable Energy Services Organization (TaTEDO-SESO), in collaboration with Sustainable Energy Services Company Limited (SESCOM), hosted international participants from the JustGESI programme for a high-impact learning visit at its premises in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on April 22, 2026. TaTEDO staff share their reflections from the day.

Dr Rihab Khalid and Dr Serena Saligari report on the JustGESI’s Work Package 1 Learning Exchange in Tanzania, co-hosted by TaTEDO-SESO and centred around designing and implementing inclusive and sustainable energy delivery models.

JustGESI team members Solomon Teklemichael Bahta, Fana Filli Nurhusen, and Akatew Haile Mebrahtu from Mekelle University, Ethiopia, supported by Serena Saligari (Loughborough University), Mulualem Gebregiorgis (Sheffield Hallam University), and Yiheyis Eshetu (Ministry of Water and Energy, Ethiopia), present a report providing an overview of Ethiopia’s transition to modern cooking.

Dr Getachew Bekele, JustGESI team member and Associate Professor at Addis Ababa University, provides an overview of key energy sector events he attended in Ethiopia in February 2026, including the e‑cooking in humanitarian settings workshop, the Gender & Energy Technical Working Group (GE‑TWG) meeting, and the 78th Talk Energy Ahead (TEA) session.

On 5 February 2026, Dr Serena Saligari and Dr Chrispin Gogoda delivered a presentation on the JustGESI project at Mzuzu University, bringing together university leaders, academics, and stakeholders to discuss pathways toward inclusive and equitable energy transitions.

Professor Vanesa Castán Broto, Principal Investigator for JustGESI, shares insights from the Global Environment Outlook 7 (GEO-7) Report, launched at the UN Environment Assembly in December 2025, and reflects on its implications for equitable energy transitions, community energy, clean cooking, and feminist energy perspectives rooted in justice and knowledge pluralities.
